Constitution Day;On September 17, 1787, the U.S. Constitution was signed by thirty-nine brave men who changed the course of history. Today we celebrate the two hundred and twenty third anniversary of the signing of the U.S. Constitution. Daughters of American Revolution (DAR) Constitution spend a week from today, September 17 through 23. The Constitution of the week was actually taken by the U.S. Congress and promulgated by Law 915 of 2 August 1955. President Eisenhower signed the act into law, which was act DAR. My, how times have changed.

After a revered document of Liberty, the Constitution had been beaten for many years. Many people, like Obama, I think it not as a means of ensuring liberty but as a restriction on what government can do. Nancy Pelosi was asked recently if the statute is constitutional, and she replied, thinking the question was a joke. As if the Constitution has no meaning or relevance anymore. She not only as the other congressmen and women are also made statements last 2 years that Congress can do what ever she wants, regardless of the constitution.

But one group of citizens have recently begun to wear on the sleeves of the Constitution. Tea Party Movement spurred a renaissance in the study of and respect for the Constitution of the United States. So that the liberal media, and even progressives in law enforcement, consider all those who bear or a quote from the Constitution a crazy psycho, or a potential terrorist.

I often think of an old episode of the original “Star Trek”, “Omega Glory” where Captain Kirk educates leaders Ian Tribe, that the Constitution was not designed exclusively for leaders. “Look at those first three words, written more than others. With special pride never written before or since. Tall words, proudly saying that we the people …” Even though Kirk knew that the Constitution was intended for every citizen know and appreciate.

The party was lighting a fire under the feet of our political class, reminding them of how the Constitution should limit the power and authority of our government. This is not a pad or ink BLOB. The Constitution is the law of the land, and must be respected by all, especially members of our government.

So hats off to the Tea Party and the Daughters of the American Revolution to celebrate Constitution Day and Constitution Week. Shame on those who think that it’s “negative rights” document, or even have no meaning in this day and age. The Constitution is immortal, because we humans are also immortal. We’re not going anywhere and we’re not going to let the Constitution be violated.
