Lara Dutta and tennis player Mahesh Bhupati got engaged last week in New York. This was formally confirmed by Bhupathi has made this announced on Twitter “So Lara and me got engaged in NY last week”.

The new couple Dutta and Bhupathi had firstly denied having any romantic connection with each other.

Ex miss universe, Dutta who had appear of a long living in relationship with model turned actor Kelly Dorjee, was linked with a further model turned actor Dino Morea a short time.

Bhupathi’s marriage to ex-model Shveta Jaishankar was going all the way through some forceful times too. That’s when Lara and Mahesh met each other, as Lara was a client of Bhupathi’s celebrity management company. Shveta later blamed them of cheating her as they were seen together even before her divorce with Bhupathi came through.

For a long time the couple deprived of rumors of involvement, maybe waiting for Mahesh’s divorce to come through. But, recently the couple seemed to be ready to appear in the open about their relationship as they made appearances together at several events and were even said to be hunting for a home.
