Former talk show host Ricki Lake escaped a house fire with her two sons and their dog over the weekend, her rep told Entertainment Tonight.
The Malibu rental home quickly burned down Saturday morning, says the rep, adding that Lake is staying with friends now.

Lake told Los Angeles authorities she was trying to refuel a portable heater when the couch caught on fire and quickly spread, ET reported.
An e-mail to Lake’s rep, Howard Bragman, was not immediately returned.
Lake, initially known as an actress who starred as Tracy Turnblad in the original 1988 feature film Hairspray, had a self-titled talk show that aired from 1993 to 2004. She most recently guest-starred in an episode of Drop Dead Diva.
The 41-year-old is mother to sons Sebastian, 13, and Owen, 9 with her ex-husband Rob Sussman.
