SSKM Hospital | Junior Doctors On Indefinite Ceasework at SSKM Hospital:
Junior doctors at the premier state-run SSKM Hospital went for an indefinite ceasework in protest against the assault on a colleague.
A spokesman of the agitating doctors said that the ceasework was to demand security for the staff and doctors to end recurring incidents of assault.
Some persons attacked a junior doctor after a patient died of serious injuries at the emergency ward, he said, adding they also assaulted other medical staff who protested against it.
Interns and house-staff have also joined the ceasework, he claimed.
Patients were affected with the ceasework hitting the emergency ward, outpatients department and other blocks in the hospital.
Hospital authorities were not available for comments.
