Terry Schiavo|Named as Terri Schiavo Life & Hope Network:
The Terri Schiavo Foundation, organized by Schiavo’s family to keep Schiavo, who had severe cognitive disabilities, alive back in 2000, has changed it’s name to the Terri Schiavo Life & Hope Network.
“This new name better reflects the purpose of our organization – to continue to develop and update our network to help families protect their loved ones from a very aggressive anti-life agenda taking control of our nation,” said Director of Development, Suzanne Vitadamo.
Before her death, Schiavo was dependent on a feeding tube for food and hydration after she suffered a serious brain injury in 1990.
Her husband and parents battled in courts when Schiavo’s husband wanted her food and water source removed to cause her death. The courts sided with Schiavo’s husband and Terri’s life was ended by dehydration on March 31, 2005.
Schiavo’s family reorganized the foundation to help families of other significantly disabled people. iberty interests of those most at risk.
The Terri Schiavo Life & Hope Network includes a new logo and new website that can be seen at the same web address: www.terrisfight.org.
