Amelle Berrabah is facing a drink-driving charge after being pulled over by police officers in the early hours of Thursday morning (September 23rd).

The Sugababes star was driving her Mercedes in Camden Street, north London, at 05.23 (BST) before she was arrested and questioned at a local police station.

A spokesman for Scotland Yard confirmed: “Amelle Berrabah, 26, will appear on bail at Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court on October 8th charged with driving with excess alcohol.”

Sugababes are known for songs including Push the Button, Round Round, Red Dress and Get Sexy, with many of the group’s hits reaching number one in the UK charts.

Berrabah – who was previously part of duo Boo2 alongside her sister Samiyah – joined the pop band in 2005. She replaced Mutya Buena – one of the founding members of the group that formed in 1998.

Following a number of changes in the line-up, Sugababes now comprises Heidi Range, Jade Ewen and Berrabah, who was released on bail after her arrest on Thursday. ADNFCR-8000010-ID-800083076-ADNFCR.
