Mathrubhumi’s SEED Awards 2010 Given Away:
Mathrubhumi’s SEED programme aims to create awareness among the growing student community on environment protection for a new green culture. Education Minister M A Baby participated in the Student Empowerment for Environmental Development’s first prize distribution ceremony at Kochi on Saturday
The minister said that the non government organisation which conducted this environment protection movement SEEd is big and is also very popular. This programme is one of the best for the future generations and to protect nature. The Government will provide help to all future deveopment programmes of SEED.
Though chief minister V S Achuthanandhan did not participate in the function his message to respect Nature and earth was read out.
Forest Minister Binoy Viswam said that an environment camp would be conducted for 150 SEED participants, namely teachers and students.
Vishista Haritha Vidyalayam award for the State’s best school which propagated SEED was bagged by Ernakulam Neeleswaram SNDP High School. The award carries Rs 1 lakh, a trophy and a certificate. Other awards namely the Haritha Vidyalayam Shreshta, Haritha Vidyalayam award, award for Teacher Coordinators were also given. The Gems of SEED award for unique work done by a student was also given away.
